We had an amazing experience!! We arrived late on Friday night and the lady kept the bar open for us so we could get a drink - very much appreciated. The atmosphere is amazing, sit in front of the fireplace enjoying drinks is a must! As it’s December everything was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Breakfast was delicious, different options and staff serving coffee and tea were lovely. They have a bar/restaurant hidden at the back, the food was pretty good (the hotel staff on this day wasn’t too helpful but anyways). The room was big and warm, all very clean. Good location too, we went for a walk near the river there, the view was beautiful with snow. A fantastic stay at a traditional highland inn.
A little bit dated rooms but bathroom fresh looking although shower water pressure is low. I still rate this place highly as the room was cosy when it was freezing outside.Good atmosphere and Friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent.Overall better than other places within half hours drive which cost a lot more. Menus are down to earth and decent prices, evening meals good. Menus in others nearby far too fancy and expensive. Will definitely be back. A good relaxing weekend.
Beautiful hotel in stunning surroundings. The team here were amazing, as was the food. My partner said the steak and ale pie was the best he'd ever had. Visiting Blair Castle is a must.

We gathered reviews from Google and Tripadvisor, and summarized helpful tips as well as commonly mentioned things others might find useful.
- For better room quality, inquire about recently upgraded rooms or those undergoing renovations for electric showers
- If dining at the hotel's restaurant or bar, consider opting for standout dishes like seabass or steak and ale pie rather than basic menu items
- Visit during off-peak times to avoid crowds but still enjoy the warm ambiance by the log fires

Nice pub to sit in for a drink but wouldn’t recommend the £13 macaroni cheese - it was 100% the Heinz variety from a tin just upended into a little dish - they hadn’t even seasoned or tried to hide it under a homemade cheese crust. Mega cheeky since mac & cheese is a simple, cheap meal to whip up from scratch.
Very rustic and full of charm and character. Food was a 4. Puff pastry been reheated as it was soft but good flavours and ambience. Dog friendly.
