Your Future Is God’s Perfect Plan - Rejoice (2024)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-14

Do you ask yourself, “Should I stand for my marriage? I am lonely. How long do I have to wait? What if my husband or wife never comes home? Is this a test to see if I will obey and have faith? I see so many happy couples around, but why not me? I am getting older; how long do I wait? I want to have our baby. What if I get sick and need someone to help me?”

Does that sound like some of the thoughts you battle daily in your mind? The enemy is attacking your mind. Are you thinking about dating or “getting on with your life?” You must take captive your thoughts. Who do you think is speaking to your mind, your Lord and Savior or the enemy, Satan, who is out to steal, kill, and destroy your marriage, you, and your children? Remember, you are in God’s army and under attack, but God has weapons you are to use. Are you using them? Never doubt God’s plan and purpose for you and your family.

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

I want you to understand that you do not have to give up on your marriage because your spouse has fallen into the sin of unhappiness, anger, unforgiveness, adultery, drugs, alcohol, or other addictions. Our Lord Jesus was sent to the earth to seek and save all sinners. He can save and deliver any person, if we only stand in the gap, praying and interceding for their salvation and deliverance.

“I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.” Ezekiel 22:30

What is your future? God knows your future, and He wants to direct you every step. Seek His face and spend time with Him, praying and reading His Word daily. Ask Him questions. God does speak to His children.

“‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearachable things you do not know.'” Jeremiah 33:3

I know the fear that you have about the future. I know the pain and sorrow that you are feeling, and you may have the enemy speaking many concerns about your future. May you always remember who holds your future in the palm of His hand. Your spouse may appear to be on the top of the world, but remember that sin is fun for only a season and the consequences of forsaking God will end in spiritual and physical destruction. That is why you are praying and interceding for them. There is a future hope for you!

Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right path. Proverbs 23:17-19

Do you remember how many times the Lord has answered your prayers? How often has the Lord shown you His will for your marriage and future? Will you believe in the promises that the Lord has spoken to your heart? Pull out all your journals or notebooks and start recalling all the Lord has been speaking to you repeatedly. If you are still doubting, ask the Lord for another word of confirmation, and then stop doubting forever!

You need to learn to walk in faith and believe what the Lord is speaking to your heart. The more you grow and mature in the Lord, the easier it will be. You are on a spiritual journey that has dividends far beyond what you can ever imagine. You have been chosen, as Jesus chose His disciples. He has a perfect plan for you and for your future generations. Think big and imagine what some of your children and grandchildren will become if you will stay faithful and believe! If you do not have children, imagine how your prayers can affect people’s lives during your lifetime.

Do you understand your future? Never forget we are just passing through and our real home is in Heaven. The Lord provides for the birds of the air. He is going to take care of you and your family. God’s plans and ways are best. He will never forsake you, but the question is, “Are you forsaking your Lord by not believing and being obedient to His plan and purpose for your marriage? Will you stand for your marriage forever?” Make a new commitment today!
